Our preferred distributions of Linux are RedHat Enterprise (for those who seek a commercially supported OS), or CentOS which is community driven. Both distributions are built from the same base sourcecode and traditionally have been first to include new hardware. As our servers are always leading edge we require this level of support from the operating system.

Typically most Customers require the LAMP open source web development platform; the acronym meaning Linux, Apache, mySQL and PHP. We have been building LAMP servers for over a decade and can utilise our experience to offer advice regarding performance tuning, secure hosting and the optimum deployment methods for your requirements.

A particular speciality is the deployment of High Availability Clusters, typically using filesystem replication. These are ideal for replacing single point of failure mySQL servers with a robust active passive setup.

Titan is able to supply Red Hat Enterprise Linux two editions. Both versions are based on common core technology. Both include a comprehensive suite of open source server applications and virtualization capabilities.

CentOS

CentOS – the Community ENTerprise Operating System - is an Enterprise-class Linux Distribution derived from sources freely provided to the public by RedHat.

CentOS is developed by a small but growing team of core developers. In turn the core developers are supported by an active user community including system administrators, network administrators, enterprise users, managers, core Linux contributors and Linux enthusiasts from around the world.

We are happy to install and support CentOS on our server range. There is no charge for the operating system however you are encouraged to make a donation

Other Linux Distributions

We have successfully installed Fedora, Debian, Gentoo, Ubuntu and SuSE onto servers, however customers wishing to run one of these distributions will need to contact us to confirm hardware compatibility. Limited support is provided for these distributions.
