Our standard email services include protection against viruses and spam via our MailSHIELD Service which utilises a number of dedicated hardware appliances to ensure emails are comprehensively scanned, yet promptly delivered.

Any emails received which are scanned and found to include a virus are deleted instantly, thus avoiding any accidental infections looking at quarantined items.

We filter all incoming email for spam using proprietary MessageIQ technology, designed to catch spam whilst delivering zero false positives. Any emails which are believed to be spam are placed into a quarantine queue where recipients can choose to view, delete or release individual emails.

How it works

MessageIQ uses targeted spam profiles that were created to defeat actual spam outbreaks as they happen. No hueristics or learning systems are used in this approach as those systems do give fairly good capture rates, but also terrible false positive rates.

Instead, a MessageIQ NOC examines email threads as they happen in realtime from around the globe. Over 500,000 messages per hour are classified automatically and new profiles or updated profiles are sent out every five minutes to the appliances. The profiles are built around current attacks based on their key fingerprints. This involves more than just analysis of the email content; examination of the sending email server, network data, header data, message content and other attributes are all assessed.

These spam profiles give MessageIQ the ability to quickly and accurately identify emails in realtime.
