Secure Webspace

If you want customers to enter sensitive information on your website (personal details, credit cards etc) then secure webspace is a *must*.

Visitors to your site will be expecting to see the padlock symbol as a sign of security. If they do not they will not use your site.

Server Specifications

Option 1 - your own SSL certificate
We are a Thawte hosting partner and can obtain an SSL certificate on your behalf.

SSL Certificate
1 Year
2 Years

The standard Webserver Certificate connects at 128 bit, 56 bit or 40 bit depending on the client's browser capability. This is the most popular type of SSL. A SuperCert enables 128 bit encryption, even if the browser is only 40/56 bit. For a better explanation of how the SuperCert works click here.

A certificate is bound onto a single host/domain. For example, we have our own certificate bound onto https://secure.titanhosts.net. Some customers prefer https://www.theirdomain.com. The choice is yours, however once the certificate has been issued it cannot be changed without a new certificate.

We map the certificate onto your existing webspace so there are no problems passing variables/sessions between the non-secure and secure areas (A common problem with hosts that have a separate secure webserver)

Option 2 - a shared SSL area
We can give you access to an area of webspace under https://secure.titanhosts.net. This is standard on a Win200 and Win500 account, and £50 per year for all other accounts.

Our recommendation is that you have your own SSL certificate - customers will not be transported away from your site which appears more professional.
