Express Edition

SQL Server 2005 Express is included as standard in both the Professional and Business packages. It is an ideal replacement for legacy MS Access databases.

SQL Server 2005 Express is limited to 1 CPU, 1GB RAM and a maximum database size of 4GB. It is missing some fundamental components found in other editions:

• Database Mail
• SQL Server Agent (Job Scheduling)
• Integration Services

SQL Server 2005 Edition Comparison

Customers are entitled to download and run SQL Management Studio Express to administer databases. Although the SQL Server Agent has been removed we are able to perform daily online (hot) backups without interruption to service through custom in-house backup software.

Customers who require advanced features are invited to choose our Enterprise package or upgrade to SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition on our Professional and Business Packages.

Standard Edition

The full SQL Server 2005 (Standard) Edition is included in our Enterprise package and can be added to any other package (additional costs may apply).

Customers are entitled to download and run the full edition of SQL Management Studio and have full access to the scheduling of jobs, full-text searches etc. We perform daily online (hot) backups without interruption to service.
